Lördagen den 17 januari välkomnar vi dig till AiC Orust, för att ta del av årstiden Vilans residenskonstnär Mercè Torres Ràfols arbete med Åsen, samtal och middag i ateljén på Orust. Hos AiC utforskar Mercè med fotografi, installation och researcharbete platsens varande genom att undersöka hur geologiska händelser och lokala myter formar vår förståelse av platsen. Genom att reflektera över geologiskt minne och tidens gång försöker projektet förankra oss i en djupare tidshorisont, där ekologiska rytmer blandas med lokala myter för att utforska hur vi bebor och delar platser.

Välkommen till middagen
Vi bjuder in dig till middagen där ateljén förvandlas till ett bord. Runt en måltid delas smaker och berättelser.
Till denna middag ber vi dig ta med en fråga som vi kan utforska tillsammans med gruppen. Den kan vara enkel eller spekulativ och beröra stenar och klippors närvaro, till exempel hur de markerar gravar, landmärken eller korsningar, eller hur de hälsas och erkänns. Tänk på lager på lager av tid, på det som vilar och det som väntar, på det som finns kvar under oss.
Menyn har temat vilan och är helt växtbaserad. Den kan anpassas till glutenfri version för den som önskar. Meddela vid bokning.
Ett varmare klimat vägrar sin vintersäsong på vitklädda landskap.
Minnen från en annan tid tvingar oss till säsongstvivel och nyord ovinter.
Men än ska de vilande inte vakna.

On Saturday, 17 January, we welcome you to AiC Orust to witness the work of the winter residency, the hibernation, where the artist-in-coexistence Mercè Torres Ràfols with Åsen will hold a conversation and dinner in the atelier on Orust.
At AiC, Mercè uses photography, installation and research to explore the essence of place by examining how geological events and local myths shape our understandings of place. By reflecting on geological memory and the passage of time, the project attempts to anchor us in a deeper time horizon, where ecological rhythms are mixed with local myths to explore how we inhabit and share places.

Welcome to the dinner
We invite you to an evening where the attelie becomes a table: Around a meal, flavours and stories are shared.
For this dinner, we ask you to bring one question to explore together with the group. It can be simple or speculative: something touched by the presence of stones and cliffs, by the way they mark graves, landmarks, crossings, or by the ways they are greeted and recognised. Think of layered durations, of what rests and what waits, of what persists beneath us.
The menu has the theme of hibernation and is entirely plant-based and can be adapted to gluten-free for those who wish.

Memories from another time force us to question the seasons and coin new words.
But those who slumber must not yet awaken.
