Sverige–Türkiye
Mirror of the Sky is an interdisciplinary artistic research project initiated by Circa Anatolia and Artist in Coexistence. The project is conceived around the image of the sky as a mirror: a reflective surface that observes all beings from an equal distance, beyond every binary opposition that places the human at the centre, and beyond the borders constructed by nation states. Rather than merely reflecting the world, this mirror records shared memories, ecological correspondences and more-than-human encounters through its own mode of witnessing.
It silently bears witness to the migration of birds, the shifting direction of the wind, the circulation of clouds, the evaporation of water, and the countless relationships unfolding among living beings across landscapes. Seen from above, the earth is not a fragmented territory divided by political borders, but a living meshwork held together by invisible connections. The sky therefore becomes neither a passive background nor a neutral surface; it is an open field where the continuous movement of life becomes perceptible beyond anthropocentric perspectives.
Inspired by this proposition, Mirror of the Sky follows the migratory routes of birds travelling seasonally between Sweden and Türkiye. Rather than approaching birds as metaphors, the project understands them as active ecological agents whose movements connect climates, landscapes, memories and living communities across both countries. Their journeys become not only the conceptual framework of the project but also its methodology.
The project proposes a critical re-reading of writing, design, sound and atmosphere. Through these Mirror of the Sky explores new ways of seeing, listening, designing and creating alongside migratory birds, proposing artistic research as a process of learning from ecological relations rather than representing them.

Mirror of the Sky – Türkiye Programme ︎︎︎ Project conceived, designed, and coordinated by Delal Şeker on behalf of Circa Anatolia.
Project Overview
Bringing together artists, musicians, designers, performers and researchers from Sweden and Türkiye, the project investigates writing, speculative design, sound, movement and atmosphere through the perspectives of posthuman theory, multispecies coexistence and ecological thinking. Rather than producing artworks alone, Mirror of the Sky functions as an evolving research environment.
Concerts, workshops, walks, performances, exhibitions and field studies become interconnected research methods through which participants collectively generate new forms of knowledge grounded in ecological observation and more-than-human relations.
The first phase of the project will take place in the autumn of 2026 in Türkiye under the coordination of Circa Anatolia. During this period, artists Victoria Skoglund and Delal Şeker will be hosted for a programme of concerts, workshops, and public events across Ankara, Muğla, and Istanbul. They will also will collaborate closely with artists and cultural practitioners based in Türkiye through a programme of workshops, performances, concerts and site-specific artistic research. These encounters will culminate in collaborative artistic production, public presentations and exhibitions developed collectively with the participating artists.
The second phase will take place during the winter of 2026 and the spring of 2027 in Sweden, hosted by Artist in Coexistence. Artists Büşra Kayıkçı, Merve Arslan and Eda Emirdağ will be invited to Gothenburg and Orust, where they will develop and present concerts, theatre performances, workshops, and other public programmes as part of the residency where they will work alongside Swedish artists in a shared process of artistic research.
