Välkommen till en eftermiddagsworkshop i kreativt skrivande och kännande med residenskonstnär Helene Johanne Christensen, mitt i den vibrerande sommaren när ljuset är som ljusast. Det är sommar på Åsen.
Under Helenes residens hos AiC kommer hon att arbeta med projektet WRITING THE FOREST, där hon strävar efter en förhöjd uppmärksamhet i skogen genom att experimentera med skrivövningar och andra metoder. Målet är att lära känna det växtliga livet, att interagera med det och att lära med och av skogens mer-än-mänskliga invånare. I workshopen får du ta del av Helenes arbete genom praktiska skriv- och platskännarövningar, högläsning och samtal.
Helene Johanne Christensen är författare, konstnärlig forskare och lärare i kreativt skrivande. I sitt litterära och tvärvetenskapliga konstnärliga arbete är hon särskilt intresserad av relationer mellan människor och deras mer än mänskliga medskapare, platsanknytning, förkroppsligad kunskap, olika former av uppmärksamhet och hur kunskap formas och värderas. Hon arbetar i skärningspunkten mellan poesi, konst och vetenskap och inspireras av antropologiska metoder.
Workshopen hålls på engelska och är öppen för alla, inga förkunskaper om skrivande, konst eller design krävs. Vi tar ett självkostnadspris på 50 kr/deltagare för material och fika under dagen. Det finns ett begränsat antal platser, så boka din plats redan nu! Vid behov så försöker vi samordna resa till och från AiC. Möjlighet finns för upphämtning vid busstationen i Henån. Welcome to an afternoon workshop in creative writing and sensing with artist-in-residence Helene Johanne Christensen, in the midst of the vibrant summer when the light is at its brightest. It is summer at Åsen.
During Helene's residency at AiC, she will be working on the project WRITING THE FOREST, where she strives to enhance awareness in the forest by experimenting with writing exercises and other methods. The aim is to get to know vegetal life, to interact with it, and to learn with and from the forest's more-than-human inhabitants. In the workshop, you will get to experience Helene's work through practical writing and place-sensing exercises, readings, and conversations.
Helene Johanne Christensen is a writer, artistic researcher, and teacher in creative writing. In her literary and interdisciplinary artistic work, she is particularly interested in relationships between humans and their more-than-human co-inhabitants, connection with place, embodied knowledge, different forms of attention, and how knowledge is shaped and valued. She works at the intersection of poetry, art, and science and is inspired by anthropological methods.
The workshop is held in English and is open to everyone; no prior knowledge of writing, art, or design is required. We charge a cost price of SEK 50 per participant for materials and refreshments during the day. There are a limited number of places, so book your place now! If necessary, we will try to coordinate travel to and from AiC. Pick-up is available at the bus station in Henån. Email us at aic.orust@gmail.com if you are interested in carpooling or pick-up!
